Engineer Rashid has castigated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy statement stating that mosque is not a religious place and can be demolished any time.

In a statement to KNS he said, “Such statements by senior leaders of BJP are nothing but fascist filth and reflect the communal mindset of BJP. The talk of putting ban on cow slaughter in Haryana and already banning it in Maharashtra implies that all is being done to hurt the sentiments of minority Muslim community and bringing law in Assemblies to punish cow slaughter by 10 years is ridiculous.”

“What is Halal and what is Haram is being clearly shown to Muslims via holy Quran and can never be decided by others. From hateful statements of Yogi Adityanath to Subramaniam Swamy and from communal programmes like Gharwapsi and Love Jihad it looks all clear that fascist brigade lead by Hindutva mindset is launching an onslaught on minorities. It is high time that those who call themselves voices of conscience stand up against this communal tirade of BJP and resist it with all their vigor,” he alleged.

Rashid vowed that sane voices will stand firm and fight with all vigour against this fascist mindset. “Time and circumstances had provided BJP an opportunity to meaningfully address the burning issues but on contrary it has adopted a divisive path which is full of hate and war mongering against minorities and all pitched to further oppress the people of oppressed regions like Kashmir and North – East. All these efforts are aimed to make India a Hindutva Rashtra,” he added.
