A piece of community infrastructure was built at a whopping price in Kral Khud area of Habba Kadal Srinagar. Two groups battled on who should inaugurate the marriage-cum-community hall. Then the infrastructure went up in flames.
The community hall was set to be inaugurated in last PDP-BJP dispensation but it couldn’t happen as the public structure was destroyed.
When police started investigation, it found three youth including a government employee and two other locals involved.
Sources identified the two locals as Junaid Bashir Dar and Wahid.
Police sources said that both the youth have been arrested and a challan would be produced in a local court soon.
Confirming the development, SDPO Kothi Bagh told Kashmir Life, “the two have been found involved in the case and we have filed the FIR.”
Sources said that the trio have appealed for bail.
Notably, Habba Kadal assembly constituency is being represented by NC’s lady lawmaker, Shameema Firdous, if state legislature for consecutive third term while former Dy CM and BJP lawmaker, Dr Nirmal Singh, was scheduled to inaugurate the community hall.
