After being charged for sedition and subsequently released, Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar Tuesday said that “Indian army rapes women in Kashmir”.

Addressing students in JNU on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Kanhaiya said, “we shall speak about human rights; we shall speak against AFSPA.” “And with all due respect to our soldiers, army men do rape women in Kashmir,” he added.

“There may be differences in our thoughts but there are no differences to save our nation and constitution,” he told the audience which comprised mainly of students.
