Intensifying his campaign for Islamabad by-election, AIP chief and MLA Langate Er Sheikh Abdul Rasheed Sunday asked coalition partners, PDP and BJP, that if they follow a “so-called” Agenda of Alliance, “what is stopping Ms Mehbooba Mufti from sharing stage with BJP and other alliance partners during her campaign in the assembly segment?
Addressing public gatherings at Hanzdatar, Check Pehru, Wantrag, Kehribal and many other places, Rasheed asked Mehbooba “why was she feeling shy in getting BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders with her to seek votes from people of Islamabad?”
“In fact Mehbooba knows that her unholy alliance with BJP has been rejected from the core of heart by masses in Kashmir and there are no takers to buy her argument pertaining to Agenda of Alliance. The venom BJP MLAs and ministers have been throwing against Kashmiris in and outside Assembly, has made position of Mehbooba Mufti absolutely odd and she is now using police like her private army and dictating bureaucrats to do everything possible to fetch her votes,” the Langate Lawmaker allaged.
He lashed out at Congress leaders and asked them not to “expect that they can befool Kashmiris by getting film stars into the race”.
“Raj Babbar and others can be very famous and good film actors, but they need to understand that there are no takers to their theatrical actions and speeches. They may play very effectively a role of hero, villain, mad-man, saint, villager, former, scientist, killer, victim or that of someone else, as given to them by their director, but need to understand that Kashmir is a place where people have really been killed, disappeared, raped, murdered, humiliated, tortured and made to bow before army and police men and their houses and towns together have been destroyed and burnt to ashes,” he said in his address to people.
“So Kashmir knows the difference between the cinema and the reality, as they are the real heroes and live in a place where youth like Burhan are being forced to take to arms after facing the worst state terrorism,” he added.
Rasheed appealed the people of Islamabad “to rise to the occasion and vote for AIP candidate Adv Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, which would be a befitting reply to all anti-Kashmiri forces”.
