With much talked about government in the state unlikely to be in place soon, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sunday asserted that it will make Common Minimum Programme (CMP) public before entering into alliance with the BJP for government formation.
“Though differences over CMP have narrowed down between PDP and BJP, some issues are yet to be settled. We will make CMP public before forming the government. First people should understand it and then only we will form the government,” PDP chief spokesman Nayeem Akhtar told KNS.
Asked when the ‘structured dialogue’ with BJP would start, he said, “I can say very soon.”
Meanwhile, sources told KNS that PDP postponed its important Core Group meeting on Sunday whichwas scheduled to finalize the candidates for the upcoming Legislative Council polls. “Though PDP has finalised the names of Yasir Reshi, Saif-ud-Din Bhat and Javid Mirchal as its candidates from Kashmir, BJP has decided to filed Dr Hina Bhat from the Valley. PDP will field Inayat Ali as its candidate from Kargil and BJP Mr Dorjey from Leh. PDP will field two candidates form Jammu while BJP is fielding three,” they said.
“However, formal announcement of the candidates will be made by the PDP only after the seat sharing formula is worked out and finalized with the BJP,” they added.
The PDP Core Group members include PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, its president Mehbooba Mufti, Members of Parliament (MP), Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Tariq Hameed Karra, MLAs Dr Haseeb Drabu and Altaf Bukhari, Chief Spokesperson of the party, Naeem Akhtar, and Vikramaditya Singh.
