A woman in Tral area of Pulwama attempted to commit suicide last evening while three persons were held with brown sugar in Srinagar.
“In an attempt to end her life, a woman (name withheld) resident of Hafoo (Nigeenpora), Tral consumed some poisonous substances at her home. She was immediately rushed to SKIMS for treatment,” a police statement said this evening.
Meanwhile, police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 1 Kg of brown sugar from them in Srinagar last evening.
“On a tip off, a police party of police station Lalbazar apprehended three suspected drug peddlers in Pandith Bagh. On their questioning, police recovered 01 Kg of Brown sugar from their instance. The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Mehraj Din Marazi, Wahid Ahmad Sheikh both residents of Sonawar and Tawheed Yaqoob resident of Namblebal, Pampore,” the statement said.
A case FIR number 21/2015 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered against the drug peddlers and investigation has been taken up.
