A man carries a baby in his lap after a woman delivers a baby on road in Bandipora.

Sources told news agency KDC that a lady from remote village Vewan of Bandipora district on Saturday delivered a baby under the open sky at the entrance gate of DH Bandipora.

“She had developed a severe labour pain and was shifted to DH Bandipora, where she goes through the tests including Covid-19 which is imperative for going through the surgery,” sources said.

“However, she was tested positive for Covid-19 after which doctors present on duty denied to treat her and shifted her to COVID hospital located in Hajin area of the district which is about 25 Kms away from Bandipora,” sources added.

The family of the lady alleged that she was crying in pain while the doctors at the hospital didn’t bother to see her.

“Resultantly, she delivered the baby under the open sky by the help of some other women on the main entrance gate of the hospital,” the family said.

The family has demanded stringent action against the medical team.
