While Chowkibal to Badnambal road in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district continue to remain closed for past four months, a woman who was suffering from a disease died on the way due to non-availability of vehicular movement in the area.
According to KNS, Mehtaba Begum, wife of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, died when she was on way to hospital after her deteriorating health condition. “The road is closed from December last year due to the accumulation of 4 feet snow in the area. Authorities hardly pay heed over the suffering of people as the roads are yet to be cleared,” a local told KNS.
He said that due to the official apathy, a woman died in the area. “It is authorities who are responsible for such negligence as with the accumulation of snow on the roads, the vehicular traffic has been closed and the residents cannot move outside their area.”
