SRINAGAR: A woman sustained injuries after being attacked by a bear in the Gutlibagh area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday morning, officials and sources said.
They said the woman was immediately shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for treatment soon after the incident. Her condition was not immediately known.
The attack triggered panic among residents in the area, with locals expressing concern over increasing wildlife movement in habitations.
Police authorities and the Wildlife Department have been informed, and necessary steps have been sought to prevent further such incidents in the future, officials said.
