Terming that worsening Indo-Pak relations could prove detrimental for the peace in south Asia, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the main source of tension between the two nations was the pending resolution of Kashmir issue.

While addressing a large gathering in Muzaafabad through telephone, Mirwaiz said the worst sufferers of Indo-Pak confrontation would be Kashmiris as they have been in the past. He said if the current tense situation doesn’t subside, thousands of people living along the LOC on both sides have to leave their homes and have to migrate from their places.

He said instead of solving Kashmir through confrontation, it would be better that leadership of both the countries show political prudence and courage to resolve it through negotiations.

Mirwaiz said since 1947 Kashmiris are the worst victim of Indo-Pak tension. He said the time has come that historical truth regarding Kashmir issue should be accepted and steps should be taken within that context to solve the Kashmir Kashmir.

Hurriyat (M) Chairman was addressing a rally organized by Hurriyat’s PaK chapter to mark the fifth martyrdom anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Aziz.

PaK prime minister, convened the rally, while as Muslim League (N) leader Farooq Hyder and thousands of others participated in the rally.
