SRINAGAR

Authorities have denied Passport to a father and his son from Srinagar city giving reason that one of their relatives was found involved in militancy related activities during the year 1995.

Ghulam Nabi Malik son of Mohammad Ramzan Malik resident of Nai Sarak Kralkhud Habbakadal told CNS that for two years the authorities had issued Passport (J7214834) in my favour and now the authorities are neither willing to extend his passport nor ready to issue a new passport to his son Arif Mohammad.

“The authorities told me that my uncle Manzoor Ahmed Malik was involved in militancy related activities and they could not be issued passport. How the police and CID could do this while the fact is that my uncle who was arrested in 1995 for his alleged involvement in militancy was declared innocent and released by TADA court,” Ghulam Nabi said.

Ghulam Nabi who is a retired employee said that he along with his wife and son are desperate to perform the Hajj but the dogmatic approach on part of the authorities ruined their designs.
