Police Wednesday stopped JKLF chairman Yasin Malik on his way to SKIMS where, he was supposed to meet Naseer Ahmad, a youth who was injured by a tear gas shell at Islamabad today, eye-witnesses said.
They claimed that the police stopped Malik midway and badly manhandled the leader before whisking him away.
Malik was injured yesterday at Islamabad during an assault by the CRPF. He was there to pay condolences to the family of slain Zahid, a trucker who succumbed to the burn injuries after a Hindu mob attacked him in Udhampur.
When Kashmir Life spoke to the J&K Police for confirmation, they expressed ignorance over the arrest. “I have no idea,” an official said.
