Yasin Malik Reaches Delhi, To Sit On Hunger Strike From May 3

Kashmiris have a right to ask for the dead bodies of their beloved son’s, Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik said today before leaving for Delhi where he will sit on a 48 hour hunger strike from May 3, 2013 at Jantar Mantar.

As per a statement Yasin Malik has said that the protest hunger strike that was announced on December 3, 2012 and recently on April 16, 2013 will highlight “the demand of returning back the mortal remains of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru, the plight of thousands who are languishing in various jails especially lifers and those who remain in jails despite release orders from courts, plight of minors and youth who have been slapped with PSA. Thousands who after being arrested in front of their families have been missing in custody from years and whose wives are today called ‘half widows’, whose children even being missing their fathers cannot call themselves orphan and whose old parents have even lost their eye sights.”

The JKLF chairman has also said, “Our hunger strike will bring to the forth the pain and agony of those who after being killed in fake encounters were dubbed as foreign militants, those who remain buried in thousands of unmarked graves and those who still feel the pain of torture and injuries.” And added that they will protest against the ‘black’ laws like PSA and AFSPA, that provide forces a license to ‘kill at will’. Yasin Malik will go for a 48 hour hunger strike at Jantar Mantar Delhi from May 3.
