N. N. Vohra, Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board Monday released a brochure brought out by the Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Tourism Development Cooperative Ltd (JKLTDC), Jammu and Kashmir, at Raj Bhavan, in Jammu.
This Brochure, listing Do’s and Don’ts for the intending pilgrims, has been brought out by the JKLTDC with a view to enlarging awareness among the Yatris about the various aspects of the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra, including the terrain and topography and the precautions to be taken during the pilgrimage. This year’s Yatra commences on June 28, 2013.
Interacting with a delegation of the JKLTDC on this occasion, the Governor lauded their initiative of bringing out the brochure, which would serve as a useful guide for the pilgrims. He observed that such literature could be usefully made available at the Yatra Registration Counters across the country for the benefit of the intending pilgrims.
Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, JKLTDC, briefed the Governor about the activities of this organization and the aims and objects of bringing out the brochure. He said that the JKLTDC volunteers will also provide free assistance to the Yatris and support during healthcare emergencies, hospitalization assistance and attendants at various locations.
