The last Friday of Ramzan (Jumat-ul-Vida,) was observed as “Youm-ul-Quds and Kashmir” to impress upon the international community to come forward in a big way to help the people of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir secure their “inalienable” Right to Self Determination.

Call for the observance of the Day was given by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Reports said that soon after the Friday congregation prayers ended in various Masjids across Kashmir, people took out rallies and processions to denounce the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

The procession taken out under the Intizamiya Committee Masjid Sharief in which hundreds of people participated. The procession culminated at Press Colony Srinagar.

Quds Day is a day muslims from all around the world show their support for the oppressed muslims of Palestine. Rallies in support of palestine are held in every capital of the world. “I invite Muslims all over the globe to consecrate the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as ‘Quds Day’ and to proclaim the international solidarity of Muslims in support of the legitimate rights of the Muslim people of Palestine.”

Mirwaiz addressed the devotees at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar but Geelani was not allowed to move out of his house while Malik addressed a gathering at Char-i-Sharief.

Resolutions supporting the Right to Self Determination of the people of Kashmir and Palestine were passed in many Masjids.

The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, addressed a huge gathering in Chrar-e-Sharief and called upon the world community “to break its silence over lingering Kashmir dispute and come forth for its settlement.”

Anti-Israel and anti-India protest marches were taken out in scores of areas of Kashmir Valley including Srinagar city.

Meanwhile the Procession of Quds Day was also taken out after the friday prayers (Jummat ul Vida ) under the banner of Anjuman e Jamiat Ul Ulema Asna Asharya Islamai School Kargil and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil.

Shiite Muslims celebrated Al-Quds Day, at Kargil.

The procession was started marching from Houza Elmiyah Asna Asharia Kargil passing through Jamia Masjid Main Bazar Lal Chowk, and return to Islamia School and Hussainy Park Kargil Ladakh.

The Quds Day rally was Concluded with speeches by renowned speakers at Islamia School Chowk and Hussainy Park, recited the verses of the Holy Quran following with speeches by renowned speakers.

In Sankoo Anjuman Sahib Zaman also organised Youmul Quds during which thousands of men and women of the area took part in these rallies and expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine .

The speakers on this occasion condemned the human rights violation in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Bahrain, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and other parts of the world.
