Some three hundred youth have arrived at Burhan Wani’s residence and assembled in the forecourt of his home in Sharifababd locality of Tral town to pay tribute to the militant commander who was killed last year on this day in a gun fight in Bamdoor village of Islamabad district of southern part of Kashmir valley.

The house is surrounded by hundreds of forces personnel. Local sources told Kashmir Life that forces personnel asked Burhan’s father, Muzzafar Wani , to tell the youth to vacate courtyard but he has told them that how can he ask the guests to vacate.

People have pitched a tent inside courtyard of the home, locals said, adding that Pro Azadi and Pro-Burhan slogans are reverberating from loudspeakers of mosques across the town.

Meanwhile, reports pouring in from Charsoo village of Awantipora say that clashes erupted between youth and forces as they tried to march towards Tral. The police and paramilitaries fired teargas shells to disperse the protestors.

Locals said that six youth received pellet injuries including two eleven year old boys, one hit in eye. They said that one youth has also been nabbed by police.
