A youth (name withheld) resident of Nandimarg Police Station D H Pora, Kulgam consumed some poisonous substance at his home.
He was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Sriangar for treatment, JKP spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, police arrested a drug peddler and recovered prescription drugs from his possession.
Acting on specific information, Police Station Sopore laid a naka near Syedpora Bypass. During the naka checking one person Mudasir Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Machipora Bomai was intercepted.
On his search 288 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan was recovered from his possession. A case FIR No 86/16 under section 8/22 NDPS was registered against him and investigation was taken up, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that one person was injured in a road accident in Islamabad.
A vehicle bearing registration number HR45B-7075 and a Maruti car bearing registration number JK03D-4700 collided at Sangam Bijbehara, Islamabad, resulting in injuries to Maruti car driver Khurshed Ahmad Dar resident of Uranhal.
The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
