A youth was injured after the army fired upon a group of boys who were on a picnic at Tanko forest in Gutlibagh area of district Ganderbal.
An official said that some boys of Gotlibagh Ganderbal went to Tanko forest (Codemarg) for a picnic and stayed there for the night. The spot is around 15 km away from Gotlibagh village. During the night hours, a patrolling party of 5 RR camp Gutlibagh fired upon them due to which a boy identified as Abdul Rashid Khan, 20, son of Suliman Khan (PSO to MLA Kangan), a resident of Gutlibagh.
Khan received a bullet injury after he was fired upon by army on his left thigh. However, Khan was provided a treatment at army camp Gotlibag by 5RR and later handed over to his parents after some negotiations, the official said.
