Amid the curfew-like restrictions in Kashmir, a youth was injured on Friday during the clashes between government forces and protestors in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports said that soon after the culmination of Friday prayers, protestors mostly youth took to streets and pelted stones on a mixed contingent of forces including the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Paramilitary forces (CRPF) deployed in the area. In retaliation, forces fired teargas shells to disperse the protestors. In the incident, a youth identified as Irfan Ahmad was injured. Irfan according to reports, has suffered an injury in his hand.

Soon after the incident, Irfan was shifted to sub-district hospital Sopore where from he was referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.

In Kashmir, widespread protest and clashes were witnessed in most of the parts in the valley after the killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in Dadsara village of Tral in south Kashmir.
