A day after welfare committee of Padshahi Bagh protested against the approach of civil and police administration in handling Zahid Iqbal ‘murder’ case, the group of people Tuesday late evening attacked the house of Ruhail, the main suspect in the killing.

According to locals agitated  mob pelted stones on the house and Ruhail and ‘tried to set it on fire’.

When contacted by Kashmir Life, Police spokesman said that few miscreants attacked the house but there was no attempt to set it on fire. he further added that police, fire brigade reached well in time to manage the situation.

According to police sources, few people were also arrested from the spot.

Pertinently Monday people ofrom Padshahi bagh protested on MA Road against police’s failure in producing charge sheet against the accused.

Zahid Iqbal, resident of Padshahi Bagh went ‘mysteriously’ missing on August 23 from his home.

After searching for few days, on August 25 family of Zahid lodged a missing report with police station Rajbagh. “On 26th while searching for Zahid, we found his tortured body on the banks of river Jhelum near foot bridge Lal Chowk,” said uncle of Zahid.
