Minister Zahoor Mir on May 05, 2016 visited Kroonch area of Pampore.

Minister of State for Forest, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries Zahoor Ahmad Mir Thursday directed removal of encroachments particularly along irrigation canal in Kroonch Pampore so that there is ample water available for farmers during the current agriculture season.

The Minister while visiting the Kroonch area of his Pampore constituency interacted with locals to know about their grievances, an official spokesperson said this evening.

He was informed that the farmers are suffering due to water logging and non-availability of water at peak agriculture season.

On the occasion Mir directed the concerned officials to demarcate the irrigation canal feeding the area and remove all the encroachments that are acting as impediment to free flow of water. He appealed people to help officials in maintaining the canals, roads and other structures of public utility.

He also directed for repairing of roads, drains and power transmission lines in the constituency. The Minister said that government is committed to provide fruits of governance to the people of the state.

The Minister was accompanied by ACD Pulwama, BDO Pulwama, Tehsildar Pulwama and Executive Engineer Pulwama.
