SRINAGAR: The Srinagar–Leh National Highway remained closed on Saturday as authorities continued snow clearance operations following a deadly avalanche at Zojila Pass that left seven people dead.
Several vehicles were buried under snow when the avalanche struck on Friday. Officials said the highway will reopen only after debris is cleared and the route is declared safe.
Rescue and search operations are ongoing, with teams from the police, Army, CRPF, Ladakh Police, SDRF and civil administration working to trace missing persons.
