On the eve of Eid, government of Jammu and Kashmir Monday released Rs 700 crore.

 “Yes, we have released Rs 700 crore to different treasuries on Monday,” Altaf Mirza, Director Accounts and Treasuries J&K government told Kashmir Life.

“The money might be in the process of being crediting into individual accounts,” he added.

The money which was released includes salaries of government employees, wages, bills of contractors and many other liabilities pending with the treasuries.

Pertinently, on the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr, the authorities had decided to release pay to its employees on July 28. Eid-Ul-Fitr is scheduled on Tuesday, July 29 if moon is sighted later in the evening.
