Three persons died while two others were injured in different road accidents across Kashmir valley and Leh, a police statement said.

“A Tipper bearing registration number JK03D/3064 hit and injured six years old Ajmat Farooq Najar son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Thajiwara at Thajiwara, Bijbehara, Islamabad. The injured was shifted to Bone and Joints hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01R/8976 hit and injured an unknown pedestrian aged about 60 years at NHW Mirgund. The injured was shifted to JVC Hospital Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries, the statement added.

In another accident, police said, “a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK02W/1695 hit and injured Mohammad Shafi Lone son of Abdul Gani Lone resident of Paraypora at Madmadav Kalarooch, Kupwara. The injured has been shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital Srinagar for treatment.”

In arid district of Leh, the police further said, “a motorcycle without registration number skidded off the road at village Shay, resulting in on spot death of motorcyclist Stanzin Outsal son of Chantand Tendup resident of Chanday, Leh and injuries to pillion.”

The statement added that cases have been registered to investigate them.
