One person died while four others were injured in different road accidents in the valley.
In Kupwara, an Oil tanker bearing registration number JK02X/6087 driven by Isher Singh son of Mustram resident of Chatigundi Ramban turned turtle at Gutkiwala Mode in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralpora, resulting in injuries to driver of the vehicle. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Tanghdar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
In another accident, a load carrier bearing registration number JK09/2764 skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Zalra in the jurisdiction of Police Station Karnah, resulting in injuries to three persons including the driver. All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Tanghdar for treatment.
Kupwara police has registered cases regarding both the accidents.
In Sopore, a load carrier bearing registration number JK05E/5192 hit and injured a pedestrian Ghulam Mohammad Khuroo resident of Putkhah at Putkhah in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Sopore police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, a residential house was damaged in a fire incident in Srinagar.
Fire broke out in a residential house of Pervaiz Ahmed Baba resident of Gunzkhud Zainakadal in the jurisdiction of Police Station M.R Gunj Srinagar, resulting in damaged to the structure. Fire was brought under control with the help of fire tenders. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
