Police on Monday said that seven people were injured when a bus carrying them overturned in the Bari Brahmana area of Jammu.

Some of the injured are said to be critical. The bus was on way to Jammu city from Sandi area.

A police official said that those injured have been shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu city.

Officials said that today at 8:45 am, a bus bearing registration number JK02BP-5727, on way from Sandi to Jammu, turned turtle near Birpur (police station Bari Brahmana), resulting in injuries to some passengers.”

Those being treated in GMCJ include Nusrat Fatima, 16, daughter of Sultan Muhammad, a resident of Sandi; Shamima, 38, wife of Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Sainik Colony;  Sonu, 12, son of Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Sainik Colony; Muhammad Asif, 18, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Sandi; Vicky Kumar, 24, son of Angrez Kumar, a resident of Khara Madana; Muhammad Ashfaq, 25, son of Atta Muhammad, a resident of Sandi and Sofia Akhtar, 14, daughter of Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Sainik Colony.

Meanwhile, 4 persons of the injured namely Sunny Kumar, 18, son of Parkash Chand, a resident of Sandi; Attar Hussain, 40, son of Shafi Muhammad, a resident of Khara Madana; Shama Devi, 60, wife of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Sandi; Tarsem and Kumar resident of Sandi are undergoing treatment at  Shree Om Hospital, Bari Brahmana.
