12,977 Teacher Vacancies in Jammu Kashmir; 7,985 in Jammu, 4,992 in Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that a total of 12,977 posts of Teachers are lying vacant across the Union Territory, with 7,985 vacancies in Jammu Division and 4,992 in Kashmir Division.

The district-wise data placed before the House shows that in Kashmir Division, Anantnag has the highest number of vacancies at 1,016 posts, followed by Budgam with 797, Pulwama with 764 and Kupwara with 621. Srinagar has 535 vacancies, Bandipora 310, Baramulla 284, Shopian 256, Ganderbal 244 and Kulgam 165, taking the divisional total to 4,992.

In Jammu Division, Rajouri accounts for the highest number of vacancies at 1,416, followed by Kathua with 1,332 and Jammu district with 1,234. Udhampur has 912 vacancies, Doda 866, Poonch 946, Reasi 479, Samba 345, Kishtwar 312 and Ramban 143, bringing the divisional total to 7,985.

The Government informed the House that all available and anticipated vacancies of Teachers are being utilized for the transition of Teacher Grade-II and Teacher Grade-III.

In addition, the House was apprised that 1,946 promotional vacancies of Masters are also under process, of which 1,722 pertain to Kashmir Division and 224 to Jammu Division. Kupwara leads in promotional vacancies in Kashmir with 352 posts, followed by Anantnag with 316 and Budgam with 198. In Jammu Division, Jammu district has 44 promotional vacancies, Rajouri 32, Kathua 29, Udhampur 24 and Poonch 22, among others.

The Government stated that all promotional vacancies of Masters are being filled through Divisional Level Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) in accordance with the rules.
