Former minister and leader of the Apex Body Leh (ABL), Chering Dorjay, confirmed that a 17-member delegation will participate in the talks. The delegation will comprise seven representatives each from the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) and the Apex Body Leh, along with two Chief Executive Councillors and the Member of Parliament for Ladakh.

Dorjay said the delegation plans to raise a four-point agenda during the meeting. “We are hopeful of a positive outcome from the talks,” he said.

Both ABL and KDA have been advocating for statehood for Ladakh, constitutional safeguards under the Sixth Schedule, the establishment of a Public Service Commission (PSC), and two Lok Sabha seats—one each for Leh and Kargil districts.

So far, nine rounds of discussions have been held between New Delhi and Ladakh’s leadership since Ladakh was carved out as a Union Territory. The last meeting took place on March 4.
