Police registered 42 cases against 63 drug peddlers in the previous year of 2014 and recovered large amount of contrabands from them stating police maintained a constant momentum against the menace of drugs in 2014, a police statement said on Friday.
“63 drug peddlers were arrested in 42 cases registered against them. In total 13682 contraband tablets and capsules, 823 intoxicant bottles, 21 kg poppy, 12.587 kg Charas and 22 grams of brown sugar has been recovered from the arrested peddlers,” the statement informed.
The statement while giving helpline numbers requested public in general to cooperate with police if “they notice any such activity in their areas by informing police instantly. The identity of conscious citizens will be kept secret”.
