SRINAGAR: Officials said a twenty-four-year-old youth was killed and one other person was injured in an accident in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday, while the accused truck driver fled the scene.
They said the accident happened near Wussan Kunzer Baramulla road between a tipper (JK03B-2973) and a Maruti 800 vehicle (JK01R-9304). The tipper driver fled the scene, while two people who had been injured in the crash were taken to a nearby hospital.
However, one of them Irshad Ahmad Ahanger son of Farooq Ahmad of Wahipora Tangmarg succumbed to the wounds while the condition of another person, Maqsood Ahmad Ahanger son of Ali Mohammad, is stated to be critical.
A police officer confirmed to a local news agency said that the accident and death of the youth as well as injuries to another person. He said a case has been registered and investigations were taken up.
