2,704 New RDD Works Approved in Budgam Under Capex Budget 2025–26

   

SRINAGAR: A total of 2,704 new works under the Rural Development Department (RDD) have been approved across 17 blocks of Budgam district under the District Capex Budget 2025–26. These include 2,048 works under PRI grants, 517 under DDC grants, 76 under BDC grants, 34 under APDP, and 29 under ABDS.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review the progress of estimation preparation for these works. The meeting was held at the DC Office to assess readiness for timely execution and to streamline administrative procedures linked to the Capex plan.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Budgam and Executive Engineer, REW Budgam, briefed the DC about the block-wise and sector-wise status of estimations. They also provided an update on the financial and physical targets and the ongoing compilation of estimates.

The DC directed all concerned officers to complete the estimation process without delay and ensure accurate and timely uploading of estimates on designated portals. He stressed that early estimation is essential for avoiding delays in project execution and ensuring efficient public service delivery.

Emphasising the need for transparency, quality assurance, and strict adherence to timelines, the DC called for better coordination between planning and engineering wings to prevent duplication, cost overruns, and implementation delays. He said that the Capex Budget is a key tool for participatory planning and that efforts must be made to achieve full estimation and execution within set deadlines.

All Block Development Officers, AEEs, AEs, and JEs of the RDD Department also attended the meeting.
