38 Jammu Kashmir Police Personnel Awarded Gallantry Medals on Independence Day

   

SRINAGAR : Thirty-eight personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been awarded the Medal for Gallantry (GM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2026, according to the official list of awardees.

The list includes personnel from different ranks, including Deputy Inspector General, Senior Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, Inspector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Head Constable, Selection Grade Constable (SgCT) and Constable.

Among the J&K Police awardees, four personnel have been conferred repeat Gallantry Medals. Rayeesh Ahmad Reshi, Head Constable, has received his first bar to the Gallantry Medal, while Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, Selection Grade Constable, and Mohinder Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector, have also been awarded the first bar.

Sarfaraz Bashir, Deputy Superintendent of Police, has been awarded the second bar to the Gallantry Medal.

The other J&K Police personnel awarded the Medal for Gallantry are Waseem Mohi-Ud-Din Lone, Manzoor Ahmad, Mudasir Ahmad, Ashak Hussain P., Kishore Kumar, Javid Iqbal Jan, Sheeraz Ahmad, Surinder Paul, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Reshi, Tanveer Hussain Lone, Mudasir Ahmad Shah, Shiv Kumar, IPS, Shobhit D. Saksena, IPS, Nasir Ahmad, Kalu Din, Adit Kumar Nad, Divya D., IPS, Mohd Usman, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, Khurshid Ahmed Wani, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Ab. Rashid Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad, Mohamad Shafi Banday, Abdul Rashid, Zahoor Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad, Pande Rajiv Omprakash, IPS, Dheeraj Kumar, Shakir Hassan, Vikram Nag, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Tariq Ahmad.

The award list, issued for Independence Day 2026, covers gallantry medals for police and fire service personnel across several states and central forces. The J&K Police entries appear at serial numbers 151 to 188 in the Police Service list.
