SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded quasi-permanent status to Prof. (Dr.) Majid Jahangir, Head of the Department of Radio Diagnosis and Imaging at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, who is currently holding the charge of Principal, GMC Baramulla.
The decision was issued by the Health and Medical Education Department through Government Order No. 623-JK(HME) of 2026, dated August 13.
The order said the declaration of his services as quasi-permanent in gazetted capacity has been made under Rules 3(1) and 3-A(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Temporary Service) Rules, 1961, read with Schedule IX of the JK Civil Service Regulations, Volume II.
Dr Majid Jahangir is presently assigned the additional responsibility of Principal, GMC Baramulla while continuing as Head of the Department of Radio Diagnosis and Imaging at GMC Srinagar.
The order was issued by M Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department.
