Minister for Horticulture and Hajj & Auqaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri Tuesday said the information regarding 696 deaths in harness and 115 militancy related cases under SRO-43 has been received from various Departments/Deputy Commissioners by GAD during last two years.

The Minister while replying on behalf of the Chief Minister to a clubbed question by Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and Vibod Gupta in the Legislative Council said that 431 deaths in harness/militancy related cases have been provided jobs during the last two years (2013-14) adding that 1252 SRO-43 cases are pending, an official statement said this evening.

The Minister said that no such case, in relaxation of rules, is pending in GAD as on date. However, the Government relaxes the lower and upper age limits or educational/technical qualification, as the case may be, in deserving cases on the recommendations of the concerned Administrative Departments/Deputy Commissioners in terms of Rule- 7 of the Jammu and Kashmir (Compassionate Appointment) Rules, 1994, as amended from time to time, the Minister added.
