An army officer was shot and killed by a soldier in a camp in Islamabad district, police sources said on Friday. The incident took place late last night.
A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of 3 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was allegedly shot dead by a soldier inside the camp in Kokernag after some heated argument.
The JCO has been identified as Rajinder Singh, a resident of Uttarakhand, and the soldier who allegedly shot and killed Singh as Satish Kumar.
Kumar was on duty inside the camp when he fired upon the JCO from his service rifle, they said.
The other soldiers overpowered Kumar and shifted the critically injured JCO to hospital where he was declared brought dead, the sources added.
