SRINAGAR: A 47-year-old man died after coming under a sand mound in Rajwar area in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon, officials said.
The incident occurred when Ghulam Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir and a resident of Chaki Sarmarg, was working with a group of laborers. Tragically, a sand mound collapsed, burying him underneath in Golipora Rajwar.
Eyewitnesses made efforts to rescue Ghulam Ahmad Mir and eventually managed to extract him from the mound. He was immediately rushed to the District Hospital Handwara but was unfortunately declared dead upon arrival.
A police official has confirmed the incident and stated that they are actively investigating the matter. (GNS)
