President Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) and MLA Langate Er Rashid has termed speech of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on eve of the birth anniversary of Late Sheikh Sahab as “disappointing and disgusting.”
“Omar and his colleagues couldn’t clear the confusion about the date of birth of Late Sheikh Sahab, how come is he making taller claims to clear confusions in Narindra Modi’s mind about Article 370 and women rights in Kashmir, Rashid said in a statement on Friday.
He added “It is strange that Omar Abdullah is making hallow slogans time and again about the revocation of AFSPA and is himself confused about his powers and authority with regard to AFSPA.” “If Mr. Omar failed to implement and incorporate few minor amendments in AFSPA recommended by Justice Varma, how can he expect to get applauds from Kashmiris for his directionless claims with reference to its revocation. How come is he morally correct when he invites Narindra Modi to have a debate in Ahmadabad over article 370 as the Article stands already fully eroded due to blessing of Late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah when he couldn’t restore even autonomy on eve of Indira – Abdullah Accord,” Rashed asked.
“Making a hue and cry over Article 370 is just an attempt to give cover to the failures of National Conference to its miss governance and to restore the autonomy which was its one point agenda when the party participated in assembly elections of 1996 against the wishes of Kashmiri people,” Rashid said.
“Let Omar Abdullah not forget that his government under the patronage of Congress has already humiliated and insulted Kashmiri people. The salt has been added to the injuries of Kashmiri people when UPA govt. whose NC is a constituent, murdered Mohammad Afzal Guru and has been letting off the real violators of human rights who are the state sponsored actors,” Rashid alleged and said “If Mr Omar Abdullah couldn’t get back the body of Afzal Guru, he must restrain from challenging Modi over Article 370 which has already lost its significance and relevance.”
