Chadoora
Police seized 4kgs of dry cannabis leaves and arrested three persons with cannabis powder in Chadoora area of Budgam district on Saturday morning, said police.
SDPO Charari sharief, Dr Shailendra Mishra (IPS), said that on specific information a police party of police station Chadoora headed by Inspector Manzoor Ahmad SHO police station Chadoora conducted a raid at village Hussippora Chadoora in the house of Mohammad Lateef Malla son of Abdul Salaam resident Hussipora, where they seized 4kgs of dry cannabis leaves and 30 gms of cannabis powder from the custody of Younis Ahmad Yattoo son of Ghulam Mohammad, Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Shafi, Fazil Ahmad Raina son of Mohammad Sharief resident Hussipora who were arrested on spot. Meanwhile the main accused, owner of the house Mohammad Lateef Malla escaped from the place of occurrence.
Police station Chadoora has registered a case FIR No 04/2013 under section 20 NDPS Act and investigation is on.
As per a police statement, the locals have hailed the police action as the issue of drug menace is growing in the area.
