Five persons were injured in different road accidents across the valley, police said on Thursday.

In Ganderbal, a Tempo Traveler bearing registration number JK12-8802 driven by Afsar Malik resident of Drahal, Rajouri hit and injured a pedestrian namely Mudasir Ahmad Lone resident of Gagangeer, Ganderbal at National Highway Gagangeer in the jurisdiction of Police Staiton Gund. The injured was shifted to PHC Kullan for treatment, wherefrom he was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment. Ganderbal police has registered a case in this regard.
In Bandipora, a Santro car bearing registration number JK05D-1649 and a Bus bearing registration number JK02V-8097 collided at Zadwa in the jurisdiction of Police Post Ajas, resulting in injuries to two persons namely Danish Reyaz Sheikh and Durdana residents of Mantrigam, Bandipora. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Bandipora for treatment, wherefrom they were shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment. Bandipora police has registered a case in this regard.

In Islamabad, a Santro car bearing registration number JK03C-3817 driven by Fayaz Ahmad Mir resident of Achabal, Islamabad hit and injured a pedestrian Ulfat Jan resident of Brakpora near B.Ed College Brakpora in the jurisdiction of Police Post Janglat-Mandi. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Islamabad for treatment. Islamabad police has registered a case in this regard.

In Kupwara, a Bus bearing registration number JK04-2144 driven by Parvaiz Ahmad Wani resident of Lalpora, Kupwara met with an accident at Nutnoosa, resulting in injuries to the driver. The injured was shifted to Kupwara Hospital for treatment. Kupwara police has registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile, two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Ganderbal, police said.

Fire broke out in the residential houses belonging to Mohammad Shafi Hajam  and  Mohammad Maqbool Hajam residents of Kullan in the jurisdiction of Police Station  Gund Ganderbal, resulting in damage to both the houses. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
