Hurriyat Conference (g) on Wednesday condemned ‘90’s like crackdown on civilians in Oakey Kulgam and said that resorting to “military might, assault and humiliating civilians”, is highly shameful act.

Referring to the crackdown of forces in Heff and Shirmal villages of Shopian district, said that targeting families of militants is highly condemnable. The vast area in district Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Islamabad has been virtually handed over to Indian army and civil administration is nowhere on ground.

“It is a collective punishment of innocent civilians and highly unjustified and violation of human rights,” a spokesperson of the amalgam said in a statement issued here this afternoon.

He said that it is unethical to involve families of militants and said that on one hand police says that families should not be involved in these situations and while as they are doing otherwise and unnecessarily targeting families of militants.

Blaming police and authorities for playing deceit, he said that disciplined forces do never involve in such dirty games.
