SRINAGAR: High-speed mobile internet services, including 5G connectivity, were restored across Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Tuesday night after remaining suspended for more than four days, officials said.
The restoration covers the entire district, including Doda town, Bhaderwah, Bhalessa and Thathri, ending a communication blackout that also affected broadband and landline internet services.
According to officials, internet services were suspended on July 17 as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order following widespread protests and a partial shutdown triggered by the civilian killing.
Officials said the authorities had earlier restored low-speed 2G mobile internet on a limited basis before deciding to resume full high-speed connectivity after the situation returned to normal.
The restoration of internet services has brought relief to residents, students, traders and businesses, besides facilitating online education, digital banking and other internet-dependent services across the district.
