The Jammu and Kashmir Government Thursday approved promotion of 93 Deputy Superintendents to J&K Police to the rank of Additional SPs.
According to sources the decision was today taken in a high level meeting held at the Civil Secretariat here which was chaired by the Home Secretary Suresh Kumar. The meeting was also attended by senior officers of police and civil administration. Director Genearl of Police Ashok Prasad and Director General Prisons, K Rajendra were also present during the meeting.
According to sources, the orders were issued after the Chief Minister approved the list of proposed Dy SPs for promotion to the rank of Additional SPs.
“The meeting also took stock of overall situation prevailing in the state and took a review of measures in place for maintenance of peace and order in the state”, the sources said.
