99.28 Percent Computerisation of Land Record Achieved in Jammu Kashmir: Centre

   

NEW DELHI: Union Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that 99.28 percent of the Computerisation of Land Records (CLR) has been completed in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a written reply, the Union Minister,said that the Government of India has been implementing a comprehensive programme for the digitisation and computerisation of land records and the registration process across the country. This initiative, called the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), has been supported with 100% financial assistance from the Central Government since 2016-17.

“DILRMP is a digital initiative to integrate land information and management systems, empowering and benefiting the citizens of India, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, region, rural or urban setting, economic status, or occupation. It aims to provide the advantages of computerisation and digitisation of land records,” he said.

The Minister further noted that the digitised land records in States and Union Territories aim to provide error-free, transparent, and tamper-proof land records, reduce land disputes, simplify the process of transferring property titles, and assist in policy formulation and planning. (KNO)
