An eleventh-month-old child was charred to death on Sunday at his residence after his family rushed out to help the people who had met with an accident outside their residence in Parantilla area of Uri in north Kashmir.

An eyewitness said that soon after the accident that claimed the life of one person and injuries to two others occurred near their residence, the family rushed out of the residence and left behind an eleventh-month-old child.

However, when the family were heading back towards the house they found their houses in blazes, and a charred body of their child identified as Umaid Ahmed, son of Mohammad Maqsood.

Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the incident and are on the spot for further investigations. After all the medico-legal formalities the body of the child was handed over to his family for the last rites.

Eerier, on Sunday morning a Chasis Alto 800 met with an accident in Parantilla Uri and resulted in on spot death of a one person identified as Anayat Awan and two others were injured identified as Azhar Awan and Musk Banoo.

Soon after the accident, the two injured people were rushed to Sub-District hospital Uri where from they were referred to district hospital Baramulla. Both the injured persons are said to be critical.
