A class tenth student was injured after his two class mater threw acid because of ‘jealousy’ in Mendhar area of Poonch district.
Officials said Muhammad Shehbaz Khan, 15, who is a student of Government High School Soniya Simbla in Mendhar, was injured after his two class mates identified as Muhammad Shafiq and Zabeer Ahmad threw acid on his face in school premises.
They said the boys had stolen acid from their school laboratory. The victim was immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar. The mother of victim said his son is intelligent student and it is because of jealousy they, the attackers, threw acid on his son.
She alleged that even some teachers at the school are against his son.
Meanwhile, the Sub-District Magistrate Mendhar, Ramesh Kumar, directed police to register a case and start investigations. Police said so far no one has been arrested.
