Additional district Magistrate Kupwara ordered the closure of two poultry godowns from the public place in the district.
According to documents available with a local news agency, KNS, Additional District Magistrate Kupwara, Firdous Sultan Raina directed the two poultry godown owners to close down their business.
“Wani Poultry Kupwara and Punjab poultry Kupwara to regulate and restrict their business to poultry sale outlets only and the un-authorized and illegal godowns should henceforth be closed and removed from the public places near the public park in Kupwara,” Raina ordered as per the document.
According to document, Additional District Magistrate has said that the Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kupwara and Tehsildar Kupwara shall ensure the execution of the order and submit the compliance before this court by or before April 27.
Document reads that the application was presented before the court under sec 133 CrPc for directing the poultry farmers to restrict and regulate their business near the public park which is determent to public comfort, health and hygiene.
“The non-applicants who are running retail poultry shops have established godowns for storing the poultry birds are using heavy trucks for their loading and unloading are blocking the roads as well. The establishment of the godowns in the market also adjacent to public park have polluted the environment and created nuisance which causes great threat to human lives in general and the residential area near the park in particular,” document reads.
