Keeping in view the security situation and the public convenience at large, the administration Saturday identified five spots in the city where different political parties can organize rallies for the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

Official sources told KNS that the security agencies have identified five specific places in Srinagar that have been declared open for public rallies for the election campaigning of political parties. Reports added that the places include Municipal Park, TRC Ground, Pantha Chowk bus stand, Mehjoor Nagar ground and the area opposite to police public school Bemina.

The District administration Srinagar while confirming the reports told KNS that the spots that have been identified as safe areas for election rallies in Srinagar have been chosen keeping the public convenience in mind. The police and traffic authorities have already been informed about this decision.

“The move is aimed for the convenience of people and the smooth movement of traffic in the city. We have identified some locations in consultations with the police department,” said a senior spokesman in the district administration.
