According to a post shared by Srinagar Police on micro-blogging platform X, all applications requesting clearance to proceed towards the area on the occasion have been rejected.
“The District Administration Srinagar has denied permission to all applicants intending to proceed towards Khawaja Bazar, Nowhatta on 13th July 2025 (Sunday),” read the statement.
The general public has been advised to comply strictly with the instructions and refrain from violating the prohibitory orders.
“Any violation of these orders shall invite strict legal action under relevant provisions of law,” the statement warned.
July 13 holds symbolic significance in Kashmir as Martyrs’ Day, traditionally observed in memory of those killed in 1931 during protests against the Dogra regime. In recent years, however, authorities have imposed restrictions to prevent public gatherings and processions related to the day.
