The District Administration has asked the people not to consume water of Mawer Nallah in Langate area of Kupwara district.

As reported by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kupwara (District Administration) that some miscreants have poured some chemical in Nalla Mawar, with the result fishes in large-scale died. Moreover, fish farm located on the Mawar at Kutlari has also affected by this illegal activity.

the spokesman said police authorities have been asked to conduct an investigation into the matter so that the action as warranted under the law shall be taken against the miscreants involved in this illegal activity.

Earlier, independent leader and MLA Langate,  Er Rasheed along with the officers of civil and police administration visited the entire area and during a joint meeting which was attended by both civil and Police administration, army officers apologized over the incident and ensured that such incidents will be avoided in the future.

However, Rasheed insisted on stern action against the culprits and an FIR was lodged over the issue in the local police station Qalamabad.

Rasheed also assured the residents that all measures will be taken to ensure that people to get pure drinking water and such incidents will not be repeated in future.
