KL Report

BUDGAM

A day after senior Congress leader from Budgam Aga Syed Mohsin quit the party, scores of Congress workers attacked his residence with stones on Thursday morning.

Eyewitnesses said that scores of Congress supporters appeared outside the residence of Aga Syed Mohsin and pelted stones on his house. The stones hit the windows and doors while the family members present in the lawn ran for cover to save themselves.

Eyewitnesses further said that after continuous stone pelting for five minutes the attackers fled from the spot. A police official said that the attackers have been identified and they would be booked soon.

Aga Syed Mohsin said that the people who attacked his house were National Conference workers who are frustrated because of this popularity in the area. “I have informed the police and I know all the attackers personally,” he said adding that it is wrong that Congress workers attacked his house.

He castigated Congress party for having pre-poll alliance with the National Conference and said that he has decided to contest election as an independent candidate. (CNS)
